Information for [profile] beautifuldreamers

Basics
  • Name: Junna Hoshimi ⭐ Dreamer Sage
  • Age: 18
  • Archetype: Striker
  • Weapon: Bow
  • Points Unspent: 9
  • Total Points: 45
Dreamer Sage has pastel green hair and dark purple eyes. She wears a fanciful light blue coat, with a white shirt underneath and a sash over it, with a darker blue skirt. A light red coat is secured to the shoulders of her coat, though never worn. She also has boots, with gold tassels, and gloves.

In the real world, Junna has violet hair and green eyes. In both worlds, she wears glasses (and always picks the right pair of frames for the situation).

Signature Ability
Starlight Arrow Cascade (Rank C)
Dreamer Sage fires one energy arrow, which explodes into twenty different energy arrows. These can either strike one target or be spread across multiple targets. Each energy arrow explodes into bright golden stars.

Powers
Plant Control (Rank A)
Dreamer Sage can make vines rise up and entangle a creature up to the size of a large Nightmare. She can also push, shove, and throw opponents with vines. She can also cause a large area to be filled with vines, which will greatly slow the movement of larger creatures and completely stop smaller ones.

Elemental Energy Arrow (Rank A)
Dreamer Sage can charge prismatic light into an arrow, which releases a powerful explosion on impact. She can charge an arrow with two actions at once, doing even more damage by doing so. She can also cause a larger explosion, which can hit multiple opponents but deals less damage to them. After charging an arrow for one action, Sage can also make the arrow into a fire, ice, thunder, wind, light, or darkness arrow.

Starlit Stage Mirrors (Rank B)
Dreamer Sage can make a magical stage mirror appear. The mirrors can reflect an arrow or other ranged attack shot off of them, causing them to ricochet where it attacks from an unexpected direction. Junna can also step into a mirror and teleport out of another. At Rank B, each mirror used in this way can be used twice in this way, and Junna can make a maximum of three mirrors.

Starlight Heal (Rank B)
Dreamer Sage can grant herself or an ally moderate with a burst of starlight. She can also heal a small area, instead, but it is only minor healing.

Flying Ring (Rank D)
Dreamer Sage can summon a ring that allows her to fly through the air. The ring dangles from a rope fixed up in the air, which can be struck and cause her to drop. At Rank D, this lasts for two turns.

Starlight Revue (Rank D)
After taking damage, Dreamer Sage can change her sandglass bow into a sandglass katana with one action. Elemental Energy Arrows becomes Elemental Energy Blade, which allows her to to strike with those effects instead. Additionally, if Junna sings while doing her turn, she gets one extra action. At Rank D, Junna can do this for two turns and needs to be struck twice before she can activate it.

History
Junna Hoshimi was born in Tokyo. As a child, she developed an interest in acting, singing, and performing. This interest was something of a dismay to her parents, who hoped she would have interests that were more likely to lead to a successful -- and stable -- career. However, she pursued this, right through middle school. She participated in plays, took singing lessons, and had acting classes. She was a very studious young woman, who especially embraced literature.

But she also idealized Dreamers. One of Junna's most precious memories came when she was six years old. At a public event, she met Dreamer Crimson. It was brief -- she just got an autograph -- but it left a strong impression on her. When Crimson vanished, Junna was heartbroken.

But this was important, because shortly after turning sixteen, she was caught in a Nightmare attack in the Dream Sphere. It was a towering, almost giraffe-like monster composed of black smoke. Instead of being killed -- or saved -- she became a Dreamer, and had her Awakening. After this, Junna's life changed rapidly. Her parents were cautiously optimistic -- one could earn a lot as a Dreamer -- and she was stunned that she might be able to join her idols.

But Junna also knew she needed to learn quickly and make up for lost time. With her parents' blessing, she transferred to Promised Morning Private Academy and moved to Yumemigaoka. Now, she is learning to be a Dreamer and developing her abilities as a Dreamer. However, she has decided that this needs all of her focus... and thus, Junna has decided to put aside her interest in theater, in song, and the rest. The world needs a Dreamer, she has decided, and that means her dreams have to go on hold.

Personality
Junna is a very serious young lady. She is diligent, dutiful, and focused. She takes being a Dreamer very seriously -- to the point of it being a flaw, if we're being honest -- and she puts a lot of energy into doing that right. Junna can be the friend who just doesn't quite go out and have fun enough; "stick in the mud" isn't inaccurate about her, some days.

She is also prone to being anxious. Junna is very concerned about what people think of her. She remembers how Dream Crimson inspired her, and she desperately wants to be that for everyone. She wants to be thought of as confident, calm, and capable; she wants to be thought of as a hero. She fears being seen as someone unreliable or even being overlooked, and so she strives to make a good impression. This can cause her to overwork herself, to sometimes burn herself out, and focus overly much on putting on a brave and strong face.

Despite this, though, Junna isn't shy. She can be a little quiet, sometimes, but this is a person who loved to perform on stage and would take on difficult auditions. Junna is studious, but she is good at talking to people. She is good at listening, too. She wants friends and she seeks them out, even if she keeps a little distance (because distance makes sure they don't see when she isn't being perfect).

And underneath that desire to put on an air of being the perfect, determined, focused Dreamer, there's who Junna really is. She loves literature and reading; she loves both modern pop culture and classics, and she's well-versed in quoting both the latest visual novel and Shakespeare. Junna has a silly sense of humor, with a tendency towards pun-making. She tries to keep this pushed down, but it comes up among friends.

Junna isn't too different her canon incarnation. The main difference is that she gave up on theater; this is a big change that I want to explore, but it's more in how she thinks than how she acts with others. It's also a deliberate choice, so her focus is on the game's focus.
